Our team is growing!

Welcome to the team!

BSE FM would like to welcome to the team…Philip Hutson, who will be responsible for overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations of the business ensuring a first class service is delivered with a smile!

Phillip Hutson

His career began as a plumbing apprentice. He then found himself working within the hotel industry for five years where his passion for customer services began. During his time in the industry he found himself being very ‘handy’ and moved into maintenance.

We look forward to Philip bringing his expert knowledge to BSE|FM and developing great relationships with clients current and future.

World Refrigeration Day 2019

World Refrigeration Day logo

The Institute of Refrigeration are campaigning to raise the profile of air conditioning and heats pumps and the contribution they make globally during the first annual World Refrigeration Day on 26th June 2019.

Diagram of original concept of refrigeration

From the initial refrigeration conception by American inventor and statesman Benjamin Franklin, who in 1758 conducted experiments with evaporation and alcohol to attain freezing temperatures.

Picture of Willis Haviland Carrier air conditioning unit from 190

To the first modern air conditioner at the turn of the century in 1902 by Willis Haviland Carrier. Carrier’s concept of sending air through coils filled with water, cooling the air while at the same time removing moisture to control humidity was revolutionary and so began the mechanical air-cooling systems we see today .

BSE FM are proud to be taking the lead in the use of innovative products to meet the latest legislation and regulations.  Our aim:

‘To use state-of-the-art cutting edge engineered technology, with an emphasis on energy efficiency to reduce carbon footprints.’

The innovative air conditioning systems available today offer both cooling and heating options simultaneously, delivering optimum comfort for individuals and businesses requirements in the most efficient way possible whilst reducing overall energy consumption.

‘Refrigeration technologies are essential and yet go widely unrecognised’ – Institute of Refrigeration about World Refrigeration day.

Refrigeration spans many aspects of life, controlling thermal applications for:

  • Comfort – heating/cooling
  • Critical processes – cooling data centres
  • Leisure – ice rinks, gyms, swimming pools
  • Specific activities – operating theatres

Global population is increasing, the demand for more facilities is increasing. According to a report by the International Energy Agency, worldwide demand is expected to triple over the next 30 years.

The BSE FM team are fully qualified to install and maintain, future and existing refrigeration systems.

We are already advising clients using our comprehensive knowledge and expertise. If you would like assistance or have any questions relating to refrigeration requirements please contact the office or mail@bsefm.com

Central Sussex College

Central Sussex College

Chichester College and Central Sussex College formally merged in 2017.

More than 20 organisations applied to take over the Haywards Heath sixth form college site and West Sussex County Council has announced that the Chichester College Group has been selected as its preferred choice to run the site.

This is excellent news for Haywards Heath, giving children the opportunity to attend a fantastic facility locally that has been left dormant for many years.

Chichester College is the largest group in Sussex and will provide high quality learning opportunities for around 25,000 students each year.

BSE FM are delighted to announce that we have been appointed to carry out essential maintenance and refurbishment work of their heating systems ready for the anticipated opening in 2020.

F-Gas compliant

F-Gas register logo

F-Gas certification in the UK is for registered companies or individuals working with F-Gas refrigeration, air-conditioning and heat pump equipment containing or designed to contain fluorinated greenhouse gases.

To comply with regulations an individual working with fluorinated gases must be fully qualified and obtain the certificate as appointed by the Department for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) under the 2015 no310 UK Fluorinated Greenhouse Gases Regulations.

All BSE FM air conditioning staff are fully qualified and the company is registered with REFCOM.

Are you getting hot?

Air conditioning

Over recent years the UK has experienced a severity of weather conditions variations. February 2019 recorded the hottest day since records began, we also saw multiple wildfires. While comparing it to the same month the previous year, the weather direction swept in from Russia bringing heavy snowfall and plummeting temperatures.

In April 2018 the UK experienced four days of sweltering heat, moving forward a few months to July the temperature was recorded at 35.3°C making the summer of 2018 the joint hottest on record.

Now is the time to consider the best ways to make new and existing buildings minimise energy use and carbon emissions in both design and operation.

Our customers are increasingly requesting air conditioning units to be installed and we actively use the new generation of greener units available from today’s growing market.

From offices to an individual’s homes, now is the time to consider investing in air conditioning, considering cost as well as the environment and carbon footprint. Modern air conditioners are designed to heat and cool spaces, they are extremely versatile, and we continuously ensure the correct system installed, best matches the location of install. The air conditioning industry must meet the F-Gas Regulations brought in by the European Parliament in 2014 with their main objective to reduce emissions of fluorinated greenhouse gases.

The impact of climate change is being felt across the world. Weather conditions being experienced are longer periods of draught, more frequent wildfires and an increase intensity of storms with patterns and temperatures continually fluctuating.

At BSE FM we understand our obligations and will support with a planned approach to changes required by the F-Gas Regulations while considering our clients desires and pre-requisite.

If you’re considering air conditioning units and would like more information, please call our offices or contact us.
